Some items are routed through Mana Pool for verification, depending on the value and track record of the seller. For unique items that are listed with pictures and descriptions, Mana Pool will check for flaws that aren't clearly disclosed in the photos and description. If we find undisclosed issues, we will email the buyer and give them the option to cancel the order.
What counts as an undisclosed issue?
An undisclosed issue is damage or a discrepancy a buyer can't reasonably see from the photos and description for the listing. Some examples: a crease or warping that only shows at certain angles, damage on the back of a item that was only clearly photographed from the front, water damage, inking, pen marks, or an item that doesn’t match the photos in the listing.
If an issue is clearly visible in the listing photos or described in the description, it’s considered disclosed, and Mana Pool will verify and ship the item.
Buyer options
When we find an undisclosed flaw, we email the buyer with these options:
- Accept the item with the issue. The item ships to you, with the issue we described. Your acceptance only covers the specific issue we told you about. If something different turns up after delivery, you’re still covered by our normal buyer protections.
- Reject the item. We return the item to the seller and refund you in full, including any shipping or fees for that item. If the item was part of a bigger order, the rest of your order ships normally.
Two days to accept (or we automatically refund)
Buyers have 2 business days from when we send the notification (this excludes weekends and holidays). If we don't hear back, we'll refund the item and return it to the seller.
If the item is returned, the seller receives an email about what our team found so they can update the listing before relisting it. If you’re a seller, the best way to avoid returns like this is to follow our Guidelines for Posting Unique Singles: clear, well-lit photos of the front and back, and honest disclosure of any flaws in the description.
