Mana Pool has two related fulfillment programs that may apply to some of your orders - High End Authentication and Gather & Verify.
For these types of orders, the seller sends the cards into Mana Pool, and Mana Pool sends them on to the buyer.
- High End Authentication affects all orders with $1000+ cards in them, as well as some lower-valued items from new sellers on Mana Pool
- Gather & Verify lets buyers opt to have Mana Pool receive a multi-package order for them
High End Authentication
For all single cards listed at $1000+ (and some other cards listed by new sellers), the cards are shipped to Mana Pool for authentication, and then on to the customer.
Authentication includes verifying:
- a card is authentic
- a card is graded as listed (based on Mana Pool's guidelines)
- any photos listed with the card faithfully depict the card
- cards listed without a grade disclose all flaws via the text and photos
Mana Pool will authenticate the high-end item that triggers the verification, and any other cards in that seller shipment.
Signatures and alterations
If a card is altered or signed, Mana Pool may reject for inauthenticity, but we will not affirmatively authenticate signatures or custom art on cards.
Authentication Failures
Cards will fail authentication and be refunded if they are:
- counterfeit
- more than one grade worse than listed
- inaccurately or deceptively listed
Counterfeit cards will not be returned to sellers. All other failures will be mailed back to the seller at Mana Pool's expense.
Authentication Downgrades
When a buyer creates an order that is fulfilled via Mana Pool, they choose either to accept one-grade partial refunds, or to require exact replacements or refunds for any issues.
If a buyer has opted for partial refunds, then Mana Pool will ship out cards with one-grade disparities, and execute refunds to buyers based on this chart.
Seller Review of Downgrades
When Mana Pool downgrades or replaces a card, sellers choose whether to accept a deduction for the issue or to have Mana Pool pay. This is handled the same way as when a buyer reports an issue.
For any downgrade that will cost the seller more than $100, Mana Pool will provide detailed photos or videos the seller can consider when choosing whether to accept a deduction. Photos on lesser issues will be provided on request.
Gather & Verify
Gather & Verify operates the same way as High End Authentication - it’s different in that it's a buyer opt-in, and it's used by buyers who want their multi-package orders gathered.
Gather & Verify is subject to the procedures as High End Authentication, except we handle some failed card verification differently.
- For one-grade downgrades, it’s the same. The seller may choose to pay for the partial refund or have Mana Pool pay.
- For expensive issues ($100+) where we don’t send the card to the buyer, we send the card back to the seller at Mana Pool’s expense.
- For less expensive issues, the seller still gets paid normally for the sale, and we don't send them back the cards.
As of August 2026, Gather & Verify is in beta and servicing about 10 buyer orders a day, from about 500 beta testers.
Payouts on Orders
Orders that are processed by Mana Pool become eligible for payout after Mana Pool receives and processes the cards.
Program Changes
Mana Pool Fulfillment was launched in May 2026. These policies and procedures may be changed in the future.
